Celebrating Progression at Imagine Care

At Imagine Care, we believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. Working with children and young people in residential care requires much more than knowledge and qualifications. It requires compassion, resilience, patience and a genuine commitment to making a difference. It also requires people who are willing to keep learning, developing and taking on new challenges.
That is why we are particularly pleased to celebrate the recent progression of three members of the Imagine Care team. Nicole Borris, Tracey Thomson and Kassidi Caruthers have all been promoted to Team Leader positions, taking on new responsibilities at Hamlet Farm, Rose Cottage and Dunelm respectively.
These promotions are important for the individuals involved, but they also represent something that is central to who we are as an organisation: recognising talent and creating opportunities for our people to progress.
Imagine Care was founded around a commitment to putting children and young people first. We know that to achieve this consistently, we need to put the right people around them — people who are skilled, supported and genuinely invested in their work.
Our teams are made up of experienced practitioners who understand the realities of residential care. Many have spent years developing their practice and building strong relationships with young people. That experience matters. It also provides a strong foundation for career development.
We want people who join Imagine Care to see it as somewhere they can build a career, rather than simply a place to work. Where someone demonstrates the ability, commitment and values required to take the next step, we want to be able to provide that opportunity.
We are proud that a number of people across our senior team have progressed within Imagine Care, developing from frontline practitioners into positions of greater responsibility and leadership. Nicole, Tracey and Kassidi are now part of that journey.
Becoming a Team Leader is an important step. It brings greater responsibility, but it is also an opportunity to influence the experience of both colleagues and young people. Our Team Leaders play an important role in setting expectations, supporting their teams and helping to maintain the standards of care that we expect across Imagine Care.
Good leadership in residential care is not simply about managing people. It is about understanding the work, being able to support others through challenging situations, leading by example and keeping the needs of children and young people at the centre of decision-making. Because Nicole, Tracey and Kassidi have already worked within Imagine Care, they bring valuable experience of our approach, our expectations and the young people we care for into their new positions. That makes their progression particularly meaningful.
Career progression looks different for everyone. For some, it may mean developing their practice and becoming an outstanding practitioner. For others, it may mean taking on additional responsibility, supporting colleagues or moving into leadership. What matters is that people have the opportunity to develop in a way that reflects their strengths and ambitions.
We want Imagine Care to be an organisation where people feel their hard work is noticed, where development is encouraged and where talent can be recognised. The progression of Nicole, Tracey and Kassidi is a great example of this in practice. They have each demonstrated the commitment and qualities needed to take the next step, and we are delighted to see them begin this new chapter in their careers.
Please join us in congratulating:
Nicole Borris – Team Leader, Hamlet Farm
Tracey Thomson – Team Leader, Rose Cottage
Kassidi Caruthers – Team Leader, Dunelm
We are incredibly pleased to see them progress within Imagine Care and look forward to seeing the impact they will have in their new roles. Their journey is also a reminder of something we want every member of the Imagine Care team to know: there is room to grow here.
When we find people who share our values, care deeply about the work they do and have the potential to lead, we want to recognise that and give them the opportunity to progress. Because ultimately, investing in our people means investing in the children and young people we care for. And that is what Imagine Care is all about.
