At Imagine Care, we believe that delivering exceptional residential care means never standing still. Our commitment to being sector leading is rooted in a culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement — always asking how we can strengthen the care we provide and ensure young people remain at the centre of every decision.
A recent improvement and development questionnaire completed in relation to Pleasantfield Cottage offered valuable feedback on the impact of our care, and reinforced the importance of working closely with partners to achieve the very best outcomes for young people.
The feedback recognised the quality of care provided within the home as exceptional, highlighting the care team’s strong understanding of individual needs and their ability to respond thoughtfully and appropriately. This reflects the importance we place on building consistent, trusting relationships where young people feel safe, understood, and supported to grow.
The feedback highlighted the progress made in helping a young person develop greater confidence in expressing her views and building independent living skills. Through patient support, consistency, and encouragement from both the care team and the wider professional network, significant progress has been made in promoting her voice and independence.
The feedback also mentioned the attentiveness of staff in recognising emotional needs as well as physical care requirements. Identifying when a young person may need additional one-to-one support, and responding sensitively in those moments, is a key part of our approach. Equally important is encouraging participation beyond the home — supporting young people to access their communities, develop confidence, and experience opportunities that contribute to their wider wellbeing.
At Pleasantfield Cottage, communication with professionals and partners was identified as a major strength. Regular updates, open dialogue, and availability for both virtual and face-to-face discussions help ensure everyone involved in a young person’s care remains informed and able to contribute effectively. We know that strong communication builds trust and creates the conditions for truly collaborative care planning.
The impact of this joined-up approach can be seen in the transformative progress the young person has made since moved into the home. Increased community engagement, greater participation in activities, and significant progress in personal care and independence all reflect what can be achieved when consistency, encouragement, and shared goals are embedded into daily practice.
For us, this kind of feedback is not simply reassuring — it is an opportunity to keep questioning, learning, and improving. Being sector leading means remaining open to challenge, listening carefully to those around us, and continuing to adapt our practice so that every young person receives care that is ambitious, responsive, and centred around their future.
At Imagine Care, we will continue to work alongside our partners, our teams, and most importantly our young people, to shape environments where progress is possible and every individual is supported to thrive.
